Nov 01,  · "Rock On" is Del 's last album(cd) but shows why he has such loyal fans. It's more recent but still sounds like Del Shannon. Mike Campbell, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty did a great job of putting this together after Del's death. Upon "Rock On"s release I believe Stereo Review had it featured as it's "cd of the month" in September of /5(49).

Stereo-copies of the LP's Runaway With Del Shannon and Seconds With Del Shannon were used to make a mastertape for a CD on the USA Taragon label. All in all, this means that there are only two albums left from which it is unknown if there are still stereo-LP's existing or the original mastertapes.

Del Shannon. Del Shannon whose real name is Charles Westover first let out a falsetto cry on December 30th in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA where he spent all his younger years, taking up guitar and singing in his early teens, learning from his favourite Country and Western singers of the day Hank Williams and Lefty Frizell.
